Choosing the Right Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive (PSA)

Hot-Melt Adhesives

We also supply hot-melt systems that combine speed and sustainability. These are found in BNSDSTLam and select packaging tapes for fast-curing, high-speed production lines.
They set instantly, resist aging, and are completely solvent-free ideal for carton sealing, labeling, and flexible packaging.

Silicone (Polysiloxane) Adhesives

Our BNS Pi050Si (Polyimide Tape) and BNSPTFE (PTFE Film Tape) represent the high-performance end of PSA technology. Silicone adhesives perform across extreme temperatures from –70 °C to +260 °C, resist UV and chemicals, and bond securely to difficult surfaces like PTFE and silicone rubbers.

They have slightly lower tack and higher cost than other systems but offer unmatched performance in transformers, engines, PCB masking, and aerospace components.

Solvent-Based Acrylic Adhesives

For demanding environments, our BNS.PGC and BNS 050PST (Polyester Film Tape) employ solvent-based acrylic systems. These tapes deliver strong, lasting adhesion across wide temperature ranges and withstand UV exposure, chemicals, and moisture.

Over time, the bond strengthens, making them the preferred choice for aerospace, automotive, and electronic insulation where long-term reliability is essential.

Water-Based Acrylic Adhesives

Our water-based acrylic line combines environmental responsibility with reliable performance. Tapes such as BNSDST and BNSDSTLam use low-VOC, low-odor adhesive systems that resist UV and oxidation while maintaining flexibility.

They’re ideal for labeling, lamination, and light packaging — applications where sustainability and clarity are as important as adhesion. Their initial tack is moderate, but once set, the bond is stable over time.

Synthetic Rubber Adhesives

Synthetic rubber improves on natural rubber with enhanced shear strength and better holding power, even on low-energy surfaces like polyethylene.
Our BNSDSTLam and BNS 461 Glass Cloth tapes exemplify this — they maintain adhesion under load and resist creep. These are excellent for industrial mounting, duct sealing, and heavy-duty bonding.

Synthetic rubbers are less resistant to temperature extremes than acrylic or silicone systems, but they excel where strong, quick adhesion and flexibility are required.

Natural Rubber Adhesives

Our natural-rubber-based systems, such as those used in BNS.PGC (Polyester & Glass Cloth) and BNSDST (Double-Sided Tissue), deliver strong initial tack and quick bonding with minimal pressure. They’re cost-efficient and ideal for short-term or indoor applications like carton sealing, masking, and general packaging.

Because natural rubber is sensitive to UV, heat, and humidity, it performs best in stable indoor conditions where fast, economical adhesion is required.
